The cause of it is considered to be a violation of the metabolism of androgens – male hormones, as a result of which dihydrotestosterone is formed, which adversely affects the function of the hair follicle. Dihydrotestosterone is formed more in the parietal and frontal parts of the head, respectively, and baldness usually begins in these areas.

Hair transplantation from the occipital area can help restore the amount of hair, since the hair from this area is more resistant to the action of dihydrotestosterone. Is it possible to transplant from other parts of the body?

Yes, it is possible, but the hair on the beard and chest is thinner and the hair structure is different, the survival rate is lower, therefore we recommend hair transplantation from the back of the head, and at the same time we guarantee you 99% survival rate of the transplanted hair.

Will the absence of hair on the back of the head be noticeable?

No. The density of hair in the donor area is so high that it allows the use of up to 50% of its follicles without the threat of noticeable gaps. It should be noted that 50% corresponds to an average of 10,000 follicles or 30,000 hairs.

First of all, do not be alarmed. As a rule, after about 20-25 days after transplantation, the process of shock loss of transplanted hair begins, which lasts about 2 months. After the 3rd or 4th month, the transplanted hair starts to grow back. By the end of the 4th month, approximately 30%, and after 6 months – up to 50% of the transplanted hair grows. Within 12 months after transplantation, the remaining transplanted grafts grow, in the range of 90-99%, for most people.

Aspirin, other blood thinners, or other herbal supplements that may increase bleeding should be avoided 1 week prior to surgery. Since smoking has a negative effect on wound healing, you should refrain from using tobacco products 10 days before the start of the operation or 10 days after it is completed. It is recommended to refrain from drinking alcohol 1 night before the operation.

Take a button-down shirt with you so that you can take it off yourself (meaning that it is not removed over the head)
